In short
1991 Foundation
The work begins with traditional materials and continuous repetition. Techniques are learned through making—plaster, mineral paints, layered finishes—often in conditions defined by existing surfaces and structural limits.
1998 Discipline
Consistency replaces experimentation. Greater attention is given to preparation, sequencing, and material behavior. Precision becomes embedded in process rather than pursued as an outcome.
2005 Integration
Projects increase in complexity. Surfaces are treated as architectural elements, integrated into the structure rather than applied afterward. Decisions are made earlier, with fewer corrections required on site.
2012 Refinement
Experience expresses itself through restraint. Decorative gestures are reduced. Materials are selected for compatibility and longevity, and the presence of the hand becomes increasingly quiet.
2020 Continuity
The practice reflects continuity rather than change. Methods refined over decades are executed deliberately and without haste. Each surface is resolved to belong to its space, without calling attention to itself.
